Fedora Week of Diversity 2024 Call for Participation is Open!

We are pleased to announce the Call for Proposals (CFP) for Fedora Week of Diversity 2024, a virtual event celebrating diversity, equity and inclusion in the open-source community. We invite speakers from diverse backgrounds to share their insights, experiences, and expertise with our global audience.

Location: Virtual event (Online)
Theme: This year's theme for Fedora Week of Diversity is "Empowering Diversity, Enriching Communities." We aim to explore how diversity in perspectives, backgrounds, and experiences strengthens our open-source community and fosters innovation.

Topics of interest

We welcome proposals on a wide range of topics related to diversity, equity and inclusion, and open-source technology, including but not limited to:

  • Diversity in tech communities
  • Inclusive leadership and mentorship
  • Overcoming barriers to diversity and inclusion
  • Building diverse and inclusive teams
  • Leveraging open-source technology for social impact
  • Intersectionality and diversity in technology

Formats

Talks, workshops, panel discussions and social activities are acceptable. Extra preference is given to sessions with audience participation and engagement.

Code of Conduct

The Fedora Code of Conduct applies to Fedora Week of Diversity virtual event. Speakers are expected to accept the Fedora Code of Conduct as a condition making a proposal.

Fedora Week of Diversity relies on the participation of speakers from diverse backgrounds to create an enriching and inclusive event. We encourage individuals from underrepresented groups in technology to submit proposals and share their unique perspectives with the community.
