hanges and take questions about plans for the future.

DESCRIPTION:"Reproducible Builds" mean the build process is fully determini
stic: given a build definition\, anyone can independently repeat the build
on their own system and get an identical result.\n\nTwo reasons why this
is useful:\n- independent rebuilds increase trust in the build infrastruct
ure\,\n- development is easier. Checking for reproducibility exposes vario
us bugs\, for example packaged temporary files or noarch packages with fil
e paths dependent on the architecture.\n\nThis talk will discuss:\n- chang
es to the build tools like rpm\n- changes to build configuration\, for exa
mple clamping of mtimes to `$SOURCE_DATE_EPOCH`\n- fixes in packages to no
t introduce randomness in any build artifacts\n- post-build cleanups done
to normalize non-deterministic bits (static libraries\, Python pyc files\,
Java jar and javadoc files)\n- F41 Change to introduce a general post-bui
ld cleanup tool\n\nIf we fix general issues that affect broad classes of p
ackages\, we expect build reproducibility for 80+% of packages. The goal i
s to have 100% of packages reproducible. We'll discuss the current state a
nd what needs to be done.

DESCRIPTION:In 2012\, we moved the installed OS under `/usr`\, merging `/bi
 n` into `/usr/bin` and `/sbin` into `/usr/sbin`\, implementing [UsrMove](h
ttps://fedoraproject.org/wiki/Features/UsrMove). But the split between `/u
sr/sbin` and `/usr/bin` remained. In 2024\, we made the decision to merge
`/usr/sbin` into `/usr/bin`\, finally getting rid of the legacy subdivisio
n of directories.\n\nIn this talk\, I'll discuss why we want to do this\,
how it's being implemented\, and how it is going.\n\nhttps://fedoraproject
