CentOS Showcase
Could we actually reach the Year of the Linux Desktop soon? Join this session to hear how an enterprise Linux distribution could potentially deliver a just-right Linux desktop by combining a 3-year release schedule with a smaller package set—leaving more room for community-maintained packages. We’ll explore workflows for making these packages available, including challenges and best practices. You’ll also get a quick demonstration comparing a stock Red Hat Enterprise Linux 10 desktop with a version running packages from Extra Packages for Enterprise Linux (EPEL)—both GNOME and KDE desktops—as well as a comparison with Fedora running GNOME and KDE.
This brief talk gives a technical update of what's happening in the RISC-V ecosystem. We'll orient ourselves with Fedora, as the upstream, followed by plans for CentOS Stream.

We'll present an update on what the Hyperscale SIG has been working on lately, what deliverables are available and how to use them, and what's coming up next.
The CentOS Alternative Images SIG continues to update their images. The latest update brings one-click installation of their WSL image on Windows 10 and 11 machines. How can such a thing be possible? You'll have to come and see.
EPEL 10 introduces the concept of minor versions for EPEL. While intuitive to some, this change has tripped up even experienced maintainers who haven't kept up with recent developments. This session will walk through what's new in EPEL 10 from the packager's point of view. We'll cover how minor versions work, what they mean for package lifecycle and compatibility, and how you can best manage updates across minor versions. Whether you're an EPEL veteran or a Fedora packager stepping into EPEL for the first time, this talk will equip you with the knowledge and confidence to package for EPEL 10.
